Twice widowed by age 45, and left with adequate funds by husband George Catt, she worked and travelled for female enfranchisement throughout her adult life. In 1890’s campaigned for suffrage in wild west towns and farms; after credited with swaying the Colorado Populist party to its precedent-setting victory for women in 1893. Twice president of Nat’l. American Woman Suffrage Association.
