Civilian deaths by state agents in Thailand and the Philippines

  • Figure 1.4 is a line graph that shows the number of civilian deaths caused by state agents in the Philippines and Thailand during the Years 1989-2016. The number of civilian deaths in the Philippines started in the late 1980s with a very high number, and it dramatically declined throughout the 1990s. At the beginning of the new millennium, the Philippines and Thailand recorded a comparatively very high numbers of state-based civilian deaths, when compared to the post-Cold War 1990s. The data are summarized below.
