ERA Cheer postcard

From Women Making History: The Revolutionary Feminist Postcard Art of Helaine Victoria Press by Julia M. Allen and Jocelyn H. Cohen

  • Printed letterpress in blue and red, 3 ½” x 5½”. Front slogan, “Give us an E, Give us an R, Give us an A! What does it spell? ERA all the way! Cheers!” The intent was to add to this Liberty Series over time, repurposing found old engravings like the one here with the cheerleader holding a banner. Such engravings were made for just this purpose—to add one’s own words.
