Average number of political killings in the Philippines

  • Figure 3.1 is a line graph that shows the average number of state-initiated political killings in the Philippines during the years 1992 to 2009, and per presidential administration: Ramos (1992-1998), Estrada (1998-2000), and Arroyo (2001-2009). Political killings were very rare in the 1990s, while the average numbers of killings increased to 150 per year at the start of the new millennium, during the years of the Arroyo administration.
