One of a pair of fundraiser broadsides. Excerpt from Abeng printed in black, with deep red initial caps. This edition of 200 copies was printed on machine-made Torino cover paper. The body type was dipped onto the press platen in two press runs as the sheet was too large for only one. (The handmade paper edition was printed on an off-white cotton rag sheet with a blue burlap ribbon and a beige manila hemp ribbon couched into the main sheet of paper, 12 ½” x 18”. 60 copies printed, 50 signed by Michelle Cliff and Jocelyn Cohen.) The companion fundraiser broadside was excerpted from “Split at the Root,” an essay by Adrienne Rich.
