- Helaine Victoria Press created the Women and Ecology postcards in such a way that when the separate cards were laid out together in the correct order, the viewer saw a poster with the four cards, the border framing all four cards in the series. Although they could print the entire 11" x 7” sheet at one time, the 10 x 15 platen press could not exert enough pressure to print all four halftone images at once. To solve this problem, they printed the top two photo engravings together and then the bottom two. Then the green outline engraving could be printed for the entire sheet, as could the linoleum block tint. Thus, each poster front required four press runs. The sheets were then cut apart into the four individual postcards, but they left 100 uncut as posters.
