From Women Making History: The Revolutionary Feminist Postcard Art of Helaine Victoria Press by Julia M. Allen and Jocelyn H. Cohen

  • Evan Paxton and Good Taste productions had a knack for producing pioneering events featuring and promoting women’s culture and Lesbian feminist politics. This concert brought together three diverse artists, music by singer, pianist, and songwriter, Margie Adam; a dance performance by Susan Gluck prepared and choreographed expressly for this concert; and Judy Grahn, Lesbian feminist poet, perhaps the best known of the three. Writing in the Lesbian Tide (June 1974), Paxton said, “The work of each of the artists is strikingly personal, a characteristic of women’s art.” Three color flyer designed and printed by Jocelyn Cohen and Nancy Poore. The 8 ½” x 11” flyer was printed in three colors on a Gestetner duplicating machine, a stencil-based copier that was really designed for one color copies. Produced at California Institute of the Arts, this one is printed in blue, red, and dark gray. Cohen and Poore also printed tickets for the concert in the same colors.
