Final Report and Recommendations
U-M President's Commission on Carbon Neutrality
The President's Commission on Carbon Neutrality, charged with recommending scalable, transferable, and financially responsible strategies for U-M to achieve net-zero emissions, recently submitted its final report and recommendations to President Schlissel and university leadership.
The report is a culmination of a two-year process involving 17 commissioners, 11 internal analysis teams (comprising 16 faculty and approximately 50 students), 2 external consultants, and more than 700 public commenters. The report includes a set 49 proposed actions that, if enacted, could enable U-M to achieve net-zero emissions universitywide. President Schlissel, the Board of Regents, and university leadership, upon reviewing the report, will determine U-M’s immediate, short-term, and long-term climate actions.
